A Lovely Day

July 28, 2019 – This day could not have been better. A sunny 12-mile paddle, a nap, a ferry ride, and a sweet campsite right next to the water. I am now just near the Strait of San Juan de Fuca and can begin to paddle its southern shore. Tomorrow the plan is to cover about 22 miles of the eastern end. All is well.

Black sand dollars. Thousands of them in swaths along the shore.
Waiting to get on the ferry to Pt. Townsend. That’s a NDK Romany on the left.
I so could have paddled this crossing today.
The trusty Salish took me, gear, and BABS safely to Pt. Townsend.
Sequim Bay State Park. We are right next to the water.
