August 15-19, 2019 – After our paddle days in the Deception Pass area, I returned home. There were several things happening that required my physical presence. Since I will need to wait to find paddling partner(s) to do the coastal piece, I’m not sure exactly when that will happen. I will do it in blocks as tides and people allow.
So I’m not really done with the journey, but I’m not sleeping in my tent, waking and paddling, then camping again, etc. It is a challenge to keep balanced, doing something for two and a half months, then not doing it.
I will be home until sometime around the 27th, weather dependent, when I cross the Columbia Bar and paddle home from there. That will be the three-day, two-night end to the 2019 journey.
So a little hiatus until then with some local paddles here and there…
