Today Andrew and I took advantage of a gorgeous late January day and paddled around the island and spent a brief time walking the east end. We couldn’t go on the west end because the Corp was bulldozing it, making it inhospitable for the cormorants. The colors all around were stunning. We saw five species of shorebirds and three loon species. there was a Pacific Loon hanging around the marina where we launched that was rather tame so I got a very good look at it both directions. It kind of hung out with us. The sunset was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. One of the best days ever.
